Hart Energy annual energy conference set for October

David E. Roberts Jr., executive vice president and CEO of Marathon Oil Corp., will serve as the opening keynote speaker to energy professionals at Hart Energy's third annual Developing Unconventionals (DUG) Eagle Ford conference and exhibition Oct. 14-16 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio.

Roberts's remarks, titled "How Marathon Oil Is Proving and Producing the Eagle Ford," will examine the company's leasehold, output and efforts to grow per-well results.

Marathon produces more than 370,000 BOE/D worldwide and forecasts some $4.6 billion in 2012 capex. It plans as many as 2,500 wells in its South Texas play.

Abundant crude, condensate and NGLs produced in the Eagle Ford are driving both operators and midstream companies to ensure production can be processed and marketed to maximize their margins. Therefore, new this year, DUG Eagle Ford will offer both upstream and midstream program tracks and technology provider exhibits.

Other petroleum industry speakers at the conference will be David Biegler, chairman and CEO, Southcross Energy Partners; Allen Gilmer, co-founder, chairman and CEO, DrillingInfo; Bill Deupree, president and CEO, Escondido Resources II; Allen Howard, president and CEO, NuTech Energy Alliance; Rusty Shepherd, CEO, Momentum Oil and Gas; Timothy L. Dove, president and chief operating officer, Pioneer
Natural Resources; James E. Wade, president and chief operating officer, Copano Energy; and Bruce H. Vincent, president, Swift Energy.

DUG Eagle Ford provides the largest gathering of oil and gas professionals in the region. The event examines the Pearsall, Olmos, Escondido and Austin Chalk emerging plays.
