TUFC to host Labor Day Cup youth soccer tournament

The Texas United Futbol Club will host the Houston Labor Day Cup youth soccer tournament Saturday, Sept. 1 to Monday, Sept. 3.

The outdoor tournament offers several age divisions for both recreational and competitive play. Teams in under-8 to under-12 divisions will play in an eight-on-eight format and teams in under-13 to under-19 divisions will play in an 11-on-11 format. Boys and girls are welcome to participate. More than 400 teams are expected to compete.

The registration cost for eight-on-eight division teams is $475 and the cost for 11-on-11 teams is $595. The deadline for tournament applications is Friday, Aug. 24. Registration can be completed online at events.gotsport.com/events/Default.aspx?EventID=24633.

The tournament will be held in two park locations. Bear Creek Park is located at 3535 War Memorial Drive, in Houston and Katy Park is located at 24927 Morton Road, in Katy. The mandatory tournament team check-in will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31 at the Marriott Westchase Hotel, 2900 Briarpark Drive, in Houston.
