Build a compost barrel workshop planned
A hands-on compost barrel workshop is planned for Sunday, Sept. 30 at the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center.
Houston Arboretum and Nature Center Conservation Director Joe Blanton will lead the 1 p.m. workshop. Attendees will build their own 55-gallon compost barrel to make compost from yard and kitchen waste.
The class size is limited to 25 people. Cost is $75 for members and $90 for nonmembers, which includes the cost of the compost barrel kit. Additional kits will be available for $65 at the end of the class. Register for the class online at houstonarboretum.org/event/build-your-own-compost-barrel-workshop.
