Spring Branch concrete company accused of botching Bellaire driveway
A Spring Branch concrete company is being sued over claims its improper installation of a driveway caused damage to a Bellaire home.
Robert Corn filed a lawsuit Aug. 14 in the Harris County District Court againstĀ JATĀ Home Services, doing business as Houston Concrete and Allied Outdoor Solutions, with a showroom in Spring Branch, citing breach of contract, violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, fraud and negligence.
Corn says in December 2011 he hired the defendant to replace the concrete driveway and patio of his Bellaire home, located in the 5600 block of Darnell Street.
The suit alleges the defendants failed to properly complete the job, which quickly resulted in cracked and crumbled concrete. In addition to the cracked concrete, the defects allow rainwater to enter the garage, causing even more damage, according to the brief.
Corn is seeking attorney's fees, court costs and damages. He is representing himself in the case.
