Memorial corporation branch blamed for crushed hand
A Louisiana man is suing a Memorial-area corporation over claims a workplace accident left him with a crushed hand. Larick Babin filed a lawsuit on Aug. 28 in Harris County District Court against the Apache Corporation, with an office in Memorial, citing negligence and gross negligence. Babin says on Jan. 5, he suffered injuries while working aboard the Apache 182-B Satellite Platform when an inappropriately attached pipe fell and crushed his hand. According to the brief, the accident happened because the company failed to maintain a safe working environment and failed to supervise its employees, among other things. Babin is seeking damages and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Houston attorney Michael E. Pierce. Harris County District Court Case No. 2012-49624.
