Houston IDS schools receive Blue Ribbon honors
East Early College High School and Project Chrysalis Middle School were recognized with the 2012 National Blue Ribbon Award for their achievements at Houston Independent School District.
U.S Education Secretary Arne Duncan named East Early College High School and Project Chrysalis Middle School among only 269 schools nationwide to receive the honors - 18 in Texas. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Award honors public and private elementary, middle, and high schools where students perform at very high levels or where significant improvements are being made in students' levels of achievement. The Department of Education will honor all of the schools at a recognition ceremony on Nov. 12-13 in Washington, D.C.
