Local artist Margaret Carson to hold demonstration for Houston Art Society program
Houston artist Margaret Carson will hold two art demonstrations as part of Houston Art Society programming.
Artist Margaret Carson of Houston will hold an art demonstration program from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12 and a watercolor painting workshop from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19 as part of Houston Art Society programming.
The demonstration program includes the laying out and painting of a Tuscan hill scene in watercolors, followed by a wet-on-wet painting demonstration. Refreshments will be provided.
The watercolor painting workshop will include the development of a Texas landscape and time-of-day color theory. Participants should bring lunch. Coffee will be provided.
Both programs will take place at Memorial Church of Christ, 900 Echo Lane, Houston.
Carson is the author of "Artful Watercolor Painting," which includes more than 20 chapters on techniques and strategies designed to assist people in understanding the art.
The Houston Art Society is a nonprofit organization that is part of the Lone Star Art Guild.
