Katherine Bornman
Q: When did you start playing sports?
A: I’ve been playing sports since I can remember. I began playing soccer along with other sports at age 3. ... Sports have always been an important part of my life. Even the first word that came out of my mouth was “ball.”
Q: Who are your biggest fans?
A: My parents, Nancy and Preston Bornman, are my biggest fans. Through all of my years of sports, I don’t think I can even name one time when at least one of my parents wasn’t at one of my sporting events.
Q: What was your worst sports injury?
A: This past February’s injury would probably be the worst for me. I took a bad fall pole vaulting and shattered my femur and tore up my (knee ligaments and cartilage). As painful as it was, my injury is a paper cut compared to struggles that other high school students face.
