Four Spring Branch runners complete Marine Corps Marathon

Four athletes from Spring Branch completed the Marine Corps Marathon on Oct. 28 in Arlington, Va.

The runners from Spring Branch and their finishing times were Ceciilia Butler, 49, 3:59:55; Denise Denicolo, 50, 4:14:25; Sandra Schneider, 32, 4:56:20; and Donald Butler, 49, 5:27:12.

According to Marine Corps Marathon organizers, a total of 23,520 runners finished the 26.2-mile race.

Augustus Maiyo, of Colorado Springs, Colo., was the men's overall winner with a time of 2:20:20, while Hirut Guanqul, of Ellicott City, Md., was the winner in the women's category with a time of 2:42:03.
