Parkway Place recently held a Veteran's Day ceremony honoring its 53 veterans and three Purple Heart recipients currently residing at the senior living community.

According to a press release, veterans placed their pictures and mementos on display and attended a reception and program at West Briar Middle School. Veterans were also given the opportunity to share their stories with students.

"It is important to honor our veterans for the sacrifices they made for our country," Rhonda Duncan, life enrichment coordinator at Parkway Place, said in the release. "Our residents truly enjoy visiting with the younger generation. We want to do all we can to help them keep their stories alive."
