Westside grad Luton helps Nicholls State to victory
Westside High School graduate Erin Luton contributed two points as Nicholls State University won an 85-60 victory at home over the University of Louisiana at Monroe Friday, Nov. 16 at Stopher Gym in Thibodaux, La., according to the Nicholls State website.
Luton also recorded three rebounds for the Colonels, who improved to 3-1 on the season. Nicholls State University's next game is 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19 at home against University of Louisiana at Lafeyette.
Luton is a sophomore forward for Nicholls State . She is a 2011 graduate of Westside High School in Houston, where she was named all-district as a sophomore, junior and senior. Luton was selected to play in the Greater Area Houston Girls' Basketball All-Star Game, and made all-district academic team. The daughter of John and Julie Luton of Houston, Luton is studying mass communications and broadcast journalism at Nicholls State.
