Student hopes college will pinpoint passion
Mary Beth Schatzman, a senior at Memorial High, is busy with a variety of clubs, honor societies and volunteer work. She dreams of going to Yale to find what she’s truly passionate about. She enjoys Spanish class the most, saying of her Spanish 5 class, “I just love everything about it. I think it’s so much fun to learn how to speak and translate the language and understanding the structure of it.”

FAVORITE AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITY: “I usually hang out with my friends and family. I also play piano and sing.”
FAVORITE BOOK: “I randomly picked up ‘Looking for Alaska’ and realized (John Green) is an awesome writer.”
FAVORITE MUSICAL GENRE: Alternative rock.
FAVORITE MOVIE: “Anything with Will Ferrell.”
AMBITION: “I’m still trying to pick what I want to do when I’m older. I’m staying open to my options. I’m hoping that when I go to college I’ll find something that I’m passionate about.”
