Houston Choral Showcase announces show
The Houston Choral Showcase will present its 80th annual holiday show at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16 at Christ Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Houston.
The show, titled Come on, It’s Christmas, will feature jazz arrangements of holiday tunes, songs from Christmas movies, classics and comedy. The choral performance will be enhanced by staging, choreography and professional orchestral accompaniment, according to a press release.
The 90-minute show will include the introduction of former showcase members who attend the performance. An audience reception will take place following the concert.
Preview performances of this show will take place at the Uptown Holiday Lighting on Thursday, Nov. 22 and Friday, Nov. 30 and Friday, Dec. 7 at the Sugar Land Town Square.

Christmas in Park Spring Branch Presbyterian Church will hold its Christmas in the Park from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16.

Foundation holds Razzle Dazzle Pink Luncheon
Memorial Hermann Foundation held its third Razzle Dazzle Pink Luncheon Thursday, Oct. 18.
The event benefitted the Bobetta C. Lindig Breast Center at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center and raised more than $210,000.
According to a press release, attendees were treated to shopping and champagne reception leading up to the luncheon and a keynote address from Bill Rancic. Dave Ward of ABC13 emceed the event, which honored Ann Cazalot, a breast cancer survivor and inaugural co-chair of Razzle Dazzle Pink.
The event drew more than 560 people, many of whom were breast cancer survivors and current patients as well as families and friends, according to the release.

Uptown Houston Holiday Lighting events announced
Uptown Houston Holiday Lighting events announced The 27th annual Uptown Houston Holiday Lighting will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 22 at Post Oak Boulevard between Westheimer and San Felipe.
A portion of proceeds from concession sales will benefit Be An Angel, an organization that helps special needs children, and the Houston Area Urban League, an organization that assists African Americans and other minorities with their needs.
The event will feature a Merry Holiday Stage Show at 5 p.m. with performances from various local groups, including the Houston Concert Band, Houston Choral Showcase, Houston Children’s Chorus and the Salvation Army Harbor Light Choir.
Santa and his reindeer will make an appearance at 7 p.m., lighting up more than half a million lights on 80 Christmas trees along the boulevard and building rooftops.
The night will end with a fireworks display, along with the sounds of favorite holiday tunes.
The event is free and open to the public.

Parkway Place honors its resident veterans
Parkway Place recently held a Veteran’s Day ceremony honoring its 53 veterans and three Purple Heart recipients currently residing at the senior living community.
According to a press release, veterans placed their pictures and mementos on display and attended a reception and program at West Briar Middle School. Veterans were also given the opportunity to share their stories with students.
“It is important to honor our veterans for the sacrifices they made for our country,” Rhonda Duncan, life enrichment coordinator at Parkway Place, said in the release. “Our residents truly enjoy visiting with the younger generation. We want to do all we can to help them keep their stories alive.”

Work begins on Park Ridge office condos
After breaking ground in early November, construction on the Park Ridge office condominiums has begun.
According to a press release, the condos, located at 16000 Park Ten Place, are part of the Park Ten Regional Business Center’s master-planned mixed-use development, comprising a major portion of the West Houston Energy Corridor.
The office condominiums will give business owners the ability to own office space in the area, which is the primary concentration for business activity in West Houston.
“With the recent boom in national and international corporations within the Energy Corridor area, particularly in terms of commercial real estate, Class A office space is now at a premium,” Steve Hextell, vice president of commercial development for SHB Development LLC, said in the release.
“For professionals and business owners who have been leasing or working from home, this is a great opportunity to start reaping the tax and equity advantages of owning affordable office space in such a prime location.”
Park Ridge will be the only office community of its kind in the area that offers units for sale, according to the release. Within the four acres, nine single-story office buildings will be built, for a total of 34 units. Each one will offer 1,185 square feet of space that can be configured to meet larger needs.
Each building will have private entrances, surface-level parking and the ability to accommodate the latest technologies. Landscaping will be provided and maintained.
