Strake Jesuit grad Brooks helps in Notre Dame victory
Strake Jesuit graduate Joey Brooks played for the University of Notre Dame in a 65-48 home win over George Washington Wednesday, Nov. 21 at Purcell Pavilion, according to the Notre Dame website.
Brooks helped the Fighting Irish improve to 4-1 on the season.
Notre Dame's next game is at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 at home against St. Francis.
Brooks played his senior year at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in 2008-2009 were he was a three-year starter under head coach Wayne Jones. A three-time captain, he finished his senior season as the second leading scorer in the Greater Houston area. Brooks was also selected to play in the Capital Classic High School All-Star Game in Washington, D.C. and received all-conference honors three times in addition to being named all-city twice. He also earned all-state honors and all-region honors. Brooks is the son of Lott J. Brooks III and Denise Crawford.
