Westside grad contributes in Nicholls State University victory
Westside High School graduate Erin Luton contributed in Nicholls State University's 75-45 win over the University of New Orleans on Nov. 23 in college basketball action.
According to Nicholls State University's website, Luton, a sophomore guard for Nicholls State University, recorded 5 rebounds for the Colonels. With the win, the team improved to 5-1 on the season.
The game was played in Lubbock.
Nicholls State University's next game is at noon Saturday, Nov. 24 on the road against Texas Tech University.
Luton is a 2011 graduate of Westside High School in Houston where she was named all-district as a sophomore, junior and senior. Luton was selected to play in the Greater Area Houston Girls' Basketball All-Star Game, and made all-district academic team. The daughter of John and Julie Luton of Houston, Luton is studying mass communications and broadcast journalism at Nicholls State.
