Stratford High School grad leads Stanford University to win
Stratford High School grad Lauren Williams had kill Nov. 21, as Stanford University rolled to a 3-1 victory over Colorado in women's college volleyball action.
According to Stanford University's website, the Cardinals won 25-21, 19-25, 13-25 and 16-25 at Maples Pavilion in Stanford, Calif. The team is now 26-3 on the season.
The next contest for Stanford University is at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, on the road against California.
Williams was a 2007 Volleyball Magazine Fab-50 selection and earned all-state honors as a senior at Stratford High in Houston under coach Becky Palermo. She was named to the Houston Chronicle All-Greater Houston Area first team in her senior season as well as being named as the best blocker and also earned all-district first team honors in her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Williams is the daughter of Craig and Shirley Williams.
