Ikea Houston releases December events calendar

Ikea Houston will host the following upcoming events in December:

Holiday Design with Todd Ramos will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursdays, Dec. 6 and Dec. 13. The workshop will teach guests how to dress the bed for winter, give tips for overnight guests and discuss ideas for table decorations that make use of the holidays, according to an Ikea press release. Letters to Santa with Radio Disney will run from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. Radio Disney will be at the Ikea Houston to collect wish lists and send them to Santa Claus. Children will be provided with stationary, envelopes and decorations to create a list as well.

The Ikea Julbord Buffet is set for 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7. The event is held each year and gives guests the chance to try many Swedish specialties. The event is $12.99 per person and $2.49 for children 12 and under.

MFAH Mixed Media Designed by Ikea will be from 8 p.m.-midnight Friday, Dec. 21. The event is held each month at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. The event is a late-night party with live music, DJs, cocktails and dancing. Guests must be 18 or older to attend. Tickets can be purchased at www.mfah.org/mixedmedia. They are $10 for Ikea Family members if purchased in advanced or $12 at the door. For non-members, tickets are $12 in advance and $14 at the door. The museum is at 1001 Bissonnet St., Houston.

Sagostund (storytime) Tuesdays are held from noon-2 p.m. every Tuesday. Storytellers read classic stories with costumed characters, magicians and more.

Friends for Life will be held at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. The Friends for Life Mobile Adoption Vehicle will stop by Ikea Houston with 28 pets looking for good homes.
