Parkway Place resident debuts first book at 80
Senior Clarke Newlin discovered a gift he could share with other seniors; his insights into to how to meet the unexpected changes of aging.
Clarke Newlin, a resident of Parkway Place senior living community in Houston, recently debuted his first book "Aging with Class" at the age of 80.
According to a press release, the book features a guide to growing older and insight into how to deal with the unexpected challenges of aging such as adjusting to retirement, dealing with the death of a spouse and watching friends pass away.
"I realized that nearly everyone enters into their later years largely unprepared for the rapid series of major life changes that come their way," Newlin said in the release. "I had to learn a lot of things the hard way and realized that many of the younger residents I live with would also be facing these events. Eventually everyone does, and no one should face them unprepared."
The book, which took Newlin 75 days to write, is available at www.amazon.com for $12.99.
