Stratford grad Firozgary plays in Rice loss
Stratford High School graduate Bahrom Firozgary scored four points, but Rice University lost 97-70 at home to LIU Brooklyn Wednesday, Dec. 12 at Tudor Fieldhouse in Houston, according to the Rice website.
The Houston native also recorded one rebound and a steal for Rice, which is off to a slow 2-6 record on the season.
Firozgary is a junior forward for Rice, and a 2010 graduate of Stratford, where he was the school's Defensive Player of the Year and helped lead the Spartans to the bi-district playoffs twice, and to the the 2009 Houston ISD Jaycees Tournament consolation bracket title. He was named second team all-district in 2010 and earned honorable mention accolades the season before. Firozgary was co-valedictorian of his class, graduating with summa cum laude honors. The biochemistry major is the son of Farrokh and Mahnaaz Firozgary.
