Strake Jesuit grad Brooks contributes to University of Notre Dame victory
Strake Jesuit graduate Joey Brooks played for University of Notre Dame in an 81-68 win against Purdue University on Saturday, Dec. 15, according to University of Notre Dame's website.
The senior guard helped the Fighting Irish improve to 9-1 on the season.
University of Notre Dame's next game is at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17 at home against Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.
In 2008-2009, Brooks played his senior year at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory, where he was a three-year starter under head coach Wayne Jones.
A three-time captain, he finished his senior season as the second-leading scorer in the Greater Houston area. Brooks was also selected to play in the Capital Classic High School All-Star Game in Washington, D.C..
He received all-conference honors three times in addition to being named all-city twice.
The son of Lott J. Brooks III and Denise Crawford, he also earned all-state honors and all-region honors.
