St. Thomas High grad Sanders contributes to Stanford University victory
Christian Sanders played for Stanford University in a 75-52 win at home against University of the Pacific on Saturday, Dec. 15, according to Stanford University's website.
The freshman guard recorded one rebound for the Stanford Cardinal, who improved to 7-3 on the season.
Stanford University's next game is at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, on the road against North Carolina State.
He is a 2012 graduate of St. Thomas High School in Houston, where he was ranked the No. 23 shooting guard by Scout.com and the No. 36 shooting guard in ESPNU's 100 national rankings.
As a junior, Sanders ranked as a two-time first-team TAPPS All-State selection after he led St. Thomas High School to a TAPPS 5A State championship, averaging 16.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game.
He also garnered district MVP honors along the way and was three-time all-district selection, earning third-team all-state accolades as a freshman member of the AAU squad Houston Defenders.
