Shadow Oaks Elementary earns honorable mention in school architecture competition
Shadow Oaks Elementary School, of the Spring Independent School District, recently earned an honorable mention in the 2012 School Architecture Competition.
Shadow Oaks Elementary School, of the Spring Independent School District, recently earned an honorable mention in the 2012 School Architecture Competition.
The competition was held during the Texas Association of School Administrators/Texas Association of School Boards Convention held in Austin.
According to a press release, the one-year-old school received awards for value, planning process, design, educational appropriateness, innovation and sustainability.
The building, designed by Pfluger Associates and built by Drymala Construction, features two floors consisting of 39 regular classrooms and numerous additional learning spaces made of brick and Texas limestone.
In addition to Shadow Oaks Elementary, Kathlyn Joy Gilliam Collegiate Academy of the Dallas Independent School District and the Sarah Hollenstein Career and Technology Center of the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District also received honorable mentions.
