Westbury Christian grad Sumbry contributes to Incarnate Word victory
Hasani Sumbry, a graduate of Westbury Christian High School, is a sophomore center for the University of the Incarnate Word men's basketball team.
Westbury Christian High School graduate Hasani Sumbry contributed 10 points in the University of the Incarnate Word's 80-59 home win against Texas A&M International on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at the McDermott Center in San Antonio.
The University of the Incarnate Word sophomore center also recorded eight rebounds and an assist for the Cardinals, who improved to 5-5 on the season, according to the university's website.
The University of the Incarnate Word's next game is at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2 on the road against Texas A&M Commerce.
Sumbry is a 2011 graduate of Westbury Christian High School in Houston. In 2011, as a senior, Hasani was an All-District performer. He is an engineering management major from Houston, and is the son of Nate and Lisa Sumbry.
