Westside grad DeBoise plays in San Jose State loss
Jamiyla DeBoise, a graduate of Westside High School, is a freshman forward on the San Jose State University women's basketball team.
Westside High School graduate Jamiyla DeBoise contributed four points for San Jose State in a 60-59 loss against conference rival California State University-Fullerton on Saturday, Dec. 22 in Fullerton, Calif., San Jose State's website reported.
The San Jose State freshman forward also recorded one rebound for the Spartans, who are 3-8 on the season.
San Jose State's next game is at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 against Texas State.
DeBoise is a freshman forward for San Jose State University. She is a 2012 graduate of Westside High School in Houston, where she won first-team All-Houston Independent School District honors and was selected as an All-Tournament performer at the Spring Branch Independent School District Invitational. During her senior year, DeBoise was a member of the High School All-Star Team of Greater Houston as well as the Greater Houston Area Girls Basketball Association All-Star Team. She earned second-team All-HISD as a junior and honorable mention All-HISD as a sophomore, and made District 20-5A All-Star by the Houston Chronicle her senior year. DeBoise is the daughter of Terry and Jacie DeBoise.
