Westside grad Hill plays in San Jose State loss
Alexis Hill, a graduate of Westside High School, is a freshman guard for the San Jose State University women's basketball team.
Westside High School graduate Alexis Hill played for San Jose State in a 60-59 loss against California State University-Fullerton on Saturday, Dec. 22 in Fullerton, Calif., San Jose State's website reported.
The San Jose State freshman guard recorded one assist and an assist for the Spartans, who are 3-8 on the season.
San Jose State's next game is at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 against Texas State.
Hill is a freshman guard for San Jose State University. She is a 2012 graduate of Westside High School in Houston, where she was a four-year letter winner under coach Troy Gillespie, averaging 13.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, four assists and 3.2 steals per game. Hill was named to the Texas All-Region Three Team as one of the top 80 high school players in Texas. She was also named to the Houston High School All-Star Team as a senior, selected as a first-team All-Houston Independent School District as a junior and senior and earned second-team All-HISD honors as a sophomore. Hill played as an All-Tournament performer at the Spring Branch Independent School District Invitational in 2012. The kinesiology major is from Houston and is the daughter of Marvin Hill and Kellye Thompson.
