Westbury Christian grad Okde helps in Louisiana victory
Westbury Christian High School graduate Sylvana Okde scored five points as Louisiana won 56-54 at home over conference rival Arkansas, Little Rock Saturday, Dec. 29, at the Cajundome in Lafayette, the Louisiana website reported.
The University of Louisiana freshman guard also recorded three rebounds and two assists for the Ragin Cajuns, who improved to 7-6 on the season and 1-3 in the Sun Belt Conference.
Louisiana's next game is 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2 at Florida Atlantic University.
Okde is a 2012 graduate of Westbury Christian High School in Houston, where she was named first team All-District in her senior, junior and sophomore seasons. Okde was selected as the district MVP as a senior, and named second team All-District in her freshman year. Okde is from Houston and is the daughter of Tony and Ann Okde.
