Westbury Christian grad Sumbry helps in Incarnate Word win
Westbury Christian High School graduate Hasani Sumbry scored four points in the University of Incarnate Word's 72-67 home win over conference rival Tarleton State Saturday, Jan. 5, at McDermott Center in San Antonio, the Incarnate Word website reported.
Sumbry also recorded two rebounds, a steal and one block for the Cardinals, who improved to 7-5 on the season and 3-1 in the Lone Star Conference.
Incarnate Word's next game is 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10 at home against West Texas A&M University.
Hasani Sumbry is a sophomore center for the University of the Incarnate Word. He is a 2011 graduate of Westbury Christian High School in Houston. In 2011, as a senior, Hasani was an All-District performer and of the team. He is an engineering management major from Houston, and is the son of Nate and Lisa Sumbry.
