Westbury Christian grad Okde scores 14 points in Louisiana at Lafayette loss
Sylvana Okde, a graduate of Westbury Christian High School, is a freshman guard for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette women's basketball team.
Westbury Christian High School graduate Sylvana Okde contributed 14 points in Louisiana at Lafayette's 53-43 home loss to conference rival South Alabama on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Earl K. Long Gym in Lafayette, La., Louisiana at Lafayette's website reported.
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette freshman guard also recorded six rebounds, one assist and one steal for the Ragin' Cajuns, who are 7-9 on the season and 1-6 in the Sun Belt Conference.
Louisiana at Lafayette's next game is 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at home against Arkansas State University.
Okde is a 2012 graduate of Westbury Christian High School in Houston, where she was named first team All-District in her senior, junior and sophomore seasons. She was selected as the district MVP as a senior, and named second team All-District in her freshman year. Okde is from Houston and is the daughter of Tony and Ann Okde.
