Westbury Christian grad Collins plays in South Florida loss

Westbury Christian High School graduate Anthony Collins scored 11 points, but University of South Florida lost 70-67 to conference rival Rutgers Friday, Jan. 17, at Rutgers Athletic Center in Piscataway, N.J., the South Florida website reported.

Collins also recorded eight assists and a steal for the Bulls, who are 9-7 on the season and 0-4 in the Big East Conference.

South Florida's next game is 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at home against Georgetown University.

Collins, a 6-foot-1 sophomore guard for the University of South Florida, is a 2011 graduate of Westbury Christian High School. He earned first team all-state honors three years in a row during high school. He is a Houston native.
