Spring's Cypress Creek FACE Announces March Events
Cypress Creek FACE, Spring's source for art and entertainment enrichment, is hosting a performance by the United Nations Association International Choir on March 12 at 3 p.m. and a dazzling one-man mime show by Michael Cooper on March 23 at 6 p.m.
The United Nations Association International Choir, inaugurated in Houston in September 1999 by founding music director, Michele Lhopiteau, gives numerous concerts in a variety of venues every year and offers its audiences a distinctive repertoire available nowhere else in the area. Currently, the choir has more than 80 members that represent 25 nations, 15 different spoken languages and an age range between 16 and 80. Tickets cost $6 to $12.
"The Masked Marvel," Michael Cooper, is an eye-popping visual artist and virtuoso mime whose exquisite performances have delighted audiences for almost 30 years. His one-man extravaganza combines breathtaking handcrafted masks, original stories of courage and wonder, outlandish stilt dancing, and a physical repertoire that ranges from the madcap to the sublime. The show is approximately 60 minutes and tickets cost between $8 and $15.
All performances will be held at Cypress Creek FACE's The Centrum, located at 6823 Cypresswood Drive in Spring. For tickets or inquiries, please call 281-440-4850 or go to www.cypresscreekface.org.
