Westbury Christian grad Okde contributes to Louisiana at Lafayette victory
Westbury Christian High School graduate Sylvana Okde scored five points in the 72-57 home win by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette over conference rival Florida Atlantic University on Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Cajundome in Lafayette, the team's website reported.
The freshman guard also recorded three rebounds and two assists for the Ragin Cajuns, who improved to 8-17 on the season and 2-14 in the Sun Belt Conference.
The team's next game is 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20 at home against Troy University.
Okde is a 2012 graduate of Westbury Christian High School in Houston where she was named first team All-District in her senior, junior and sophomore seasons. Okde was selected as the district MVP as a senior, and named second team All-District in her freshman year. Okde is from Houston and is the daughter of Tony and Ann Okde.
