Hampton Police Division dive team makes polar plunge to raise funds
Hampton Police Division's dive team took part in the Feb. 2 polar plunge, along with helping to ensure participants' safety.
The Hampton Police Division's dive team participated in a polar plunge/5K fundraiser Saturday, Feb. 2.
According to a dive team press release, "A total of 24 total participants, which included either officers, their family members or friends, participated for the Special Olympics. These individuals either participated in the 5K run or the polar plunge. As result, the funds raised will be able to send eight athletes to the Special Olympics Summer Games, which will be held Friday, June 7 to Saturday, June 8 in Richmond."
The event raised $1,735.
Special Olympics Texas is located at 7715 Chevy Chase Drive, Austin.
