Westbury Christian grad Okde contributes to Louisiana at Lafayette victory
Westbury Christian High School graduate Sylvana Okde contributed eight points in University of Louisiana at Lafayette's 63-59 home win over Troy University on Wednesday, Feb. 20 in Lafayette, La., Louisiana's website reported.
The Louisiana at Lafayette freshman guard also recorded three rebounds and one steal for the Cajuns, who improved to 9-17 on the season and 3-14 in the Sun Belt Conference.
Louisiana at Lafayette's next game is 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at home against Western Kentucky University.
Okde is a freshman guard for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is a 2012 graduate of Westbury Christian High School in Houston, where she was named first team All-District in her senior, junior and sophomore seasons. Okde was selected as the district MVP as a senior, and named second team All-District in her freshman year. Okde is from Houston and is the daughter of Tony and Ann Okde.
