Westside grad Luton scores one in Nicholls State loss
Westside High School graduate Erin Luton contributed one point in Nicholls State University's 59-57 loss to conference rival Lamar University on Feb. 21 at Montagne Center in Beaumont.
The sophomore forward and the Colonels are 16-9 on the season and 8-5 in the conference.
Nicholls State's next game is 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 28 on the road against Sam Houston State University.
Luton is a 2011 graduate of Westside High School in Houston, where she was named All-District as a sophomore, junior and senior. Luton was selected to play in the Greater Area Houston Girls' Basketball All-Star Game, and made the All-District Academic Team. The daughter of John and Julie Luton of Houston, Luton is studying mass communications and broadcast journalism at Nicholls State.
